As of October 3, 2003, the Federal Trade Commission has begun enforcement of the Do-Not-Call provision of the Telemarketing Sales Rule.
This means that all sellers and telemarketers must verify whether their prospects are among the over 50 million consumers on the National Do-Not-Call Registry before calling them.
Violations of this new, confusing policy could result in fines of up to $11,000.00 each.
